Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team, developing scalable, high-performance applications that power mission-critical business solutions. Working within a collaborative Agile environment, you will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from technical design through to deployment and ongoing optimisation.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, QA Engineers and DevOps teams to build secure, maintainable, and innovative software products.

This role offers excellent exposure to modern technologies and a clear pathway for career progression into Senior Engineering or Technical Leadership positions.

Project Description

You will initially join a cross-functional team responsible for developing a cloud-native SaaS platform serving enterprise customers across multiple industries.

  • Technology Stack: .NET/C#, Java, Python or JavaScript (React/Node.js), Azure or AWS, SQL/NoSQL databases, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Methodology: Agile Scrum with CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience developing commercial software applications.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservice architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
  • Understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns and SOLID practices.
  • Experience with Git version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent commercial experience.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable software applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
  • Develop APIs and backend services to support business functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with Product Managers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with QA Engineers to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing.

Continuous Improvement

  • Improve application performance and scalability.
  • Support automation and DevOps initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance development processes.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and engineering best practices.
